While the afternoon was a mere shadow of the full Highland Gathering, the hotel patrons present were certainly appreciative of the Bands performing. (They have rescheduled for Saturday 6 August 2022.) That said the Hotel was keen for our band and Highlands band and any other band interested in for lunch and beer, with the bands performing a couple of short sets across the afternoon. On Saturday 2nd April, the Bundanoon Gathering was postponed because the oval was literally under water. This year we were joined in our Pub performance by the Australian Rugby Choir, singing along to several well-known Scottish tunes, before busting out a medley of wartime hits on their own. On Monday 25 th April, CCPD was again honoured to lead the Bungendore ANZAC Day Service, leading the March to the Cenotaph for the service, and bank to the pub for the afternoon festivities. The event was held at Regatta Point for an “invite only” guest list of 60 VIPs including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. As part in the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with a beacon lighting ceremony being organised by Prime Minister and Cabinet, we performed the specially written tune, “Diu Regnare” at 9.09pm, celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 th year on the Throne. On Thursday 2nd June, performing as AFPPD, we once again helped celebrate another momentous milestone for Her Majesty the Queen.
